DX Report 11/23/12
« on: November 23, 2012, 11:28:30 AM »
Only real thing notable this morning was S79NU heard on 14,004 about 1600z then station vanished, according to the web site this operator will on the islands for about two weeks. Work this one while you can since activity is pretty sparse. Again, a few Chinese stations spotted on DX scape, However, they seem to make one contact and then vanish promptly.

One more station that has surfaced is TC2A, this is an operation from Turkey with a special prefix call, not sure about the event, but this station was heard on 20 and 40 at various times. Mostly cw in the Extra bands.

The DX contest cw over the weekend and I plan to search around on 40 meters for the most part, looks like several suitcase operations are in the works, take your chances with these and good luck. Give them points of course, but as to whether they will actually count for DXCC and if they provide the documentation to the league is anyone's guess.

A word about DX clusters, self spotting is frowned upon and really serves no purpose. If you want the world to know you are on a frequency call CQ DX, if your signal is strong others will spot you. You do not need to spot yourself.

Neither does posting QZ6TZR, this is of no value, yet we have some repeat offenders on the DXscape site.

Ok, for those you working cw, get out there and have some fun over the weekend, work as many as you can and just enjoy.

Hope all had a great turkey day...
