DX Report 8/22/13
« on: August 22, 2013, 06:00:24 AM »
5W1SA 7.008.5 1000Z this is a former Japanese ham who settled in Samoa. Various bands of operation, mostly 40 meters with a very good signal in the morning hours. I have also noted this station on 15 at various times.

One item to mention I had reported on E6ST earlier this week, operator plans to venture to A35 land for a few days, stated he will be on the island for a week, or longer. So, if you need A35 keep a watch. Nothing reported, or worked in that area for a few months.

FK8CE 14.012 0630Z nice signal, somewhat rare country grab it while you can.

YW5X 21295 0330Z new prefix from YV land, big signal, easy to work. Counts for IOTA SA 054. If you are working for IOTA islands then go for it. Otherwise, count it for YV land.

Couple of good ones on ten, in and out... A71BK 28.515 1530Z Long path from U.S.

A71BO 28.477 1512Z again long path from U.S.  Some moderate openings on ten these days, however working any DX on ten is a matter of being on the band at the right time and right place. For the most part ten has been pretty dead for months.
