DX Report 8/13/13
« on: August 13, 2013, 03:49:16 AM »
Fifteen meters was fair to poor yesterday, however several stations from Europe were worked with pretty good signals, there was a

stateside station operating from the Canary Islands using portable EA8. Europe for the most part were worked prior to the thunderstorm moving in my area.

I also noted and copied D3AA, but did not try and work him since I had a man on my tower close to the antenna, so since I had worked this station some time ago I made no effort to work him this time. More on this later.

Twenty meters came to life during the evening, worked HV0A and this is a rare operation from the Vatican. Big signal lots of stations calling.. 0230Z 14.026 up 2. Made a contact after two calls, they were active for a long time. The Vatican operation although worked several times on three bands is sparse in the activity. Grab this one while you have the chance. Nice qsl card, but it takes a while for them to respond, but you do receive a card.

More to come in the next few days on 20/15/10/40
