DX Report 5/30/13

There are a number of stations participating in the 75th birthday of the First class cw ops. However, these stations are making them selves very scarce.

It appears they make one, maybe two contacts on 40 meters and then vanish, but if you are lucky enough to catch one of these phantoms, then look for the following.

KH6FOC  7.026 0450Z, one contact and gone.

Hz1FOC 7.026.5 2323Z one contact and gone.

5T1FOC 7.024.5 0700 two contacts and does the disappearing act.

VP9FOC he does stay around for a while 7.009 1000Z.

I have heard others, or seen them spotted, but these stations are not on for any length of time at least not on 40. Granted this is the time of year when high noise and static levels do cause problems. However, some of these stations were heard, or spotted when the band was quiet.

An odd call surfaced on 7.130 GW100RSGB around 0000Z signal was buried in the static nice one if you can hear him over the noise, but tonight was not the night.
