DX Report 10/18/17

Some good news, 3C0L continues to operate from Annobon island, good signal from him on 40 and 80, only thing is the pile up is huge, be prepared to wait a while for a contact. The CW ops are fantastic, be advised this is high speed CW and if you cannot copy your own call at this speed, be better to just stand by.

This is also a split operation so review how to split your rig before calling.

In other dx VK9XI, well this one is typical of the VK9 operations, appears now and then, couple of contacts, does the vanishing act. What little this operation has been heard has been West Coast stations. Only hearing them rather weakly, so we take our chances.

There has been a very limited operation of E44WE on 15 meters, odd thing, they are staying on 21.200 and listening up 100 khz, that is right 100 khz 21.300 to 21.310khz. Not sure why there is such a wide split, perhaps band limitations of some other reason, but this type of split and that far is a little much.

H40GC pretty active, they have been working long path on 20 in the afternoon, pretty good signal frequencies do vary, just check the clusters for spot activity. Not a bad signal on long path.

Another very limited operation is from S21, only U.S. West Coast have heard this operation, signal pretty weak on the coast, so if they are barely making it that far, the chances of a contact back this way is pretty rare.

Lastly KC4AAA has been making numerous contacts around 14.260 and 14.245 in the evening hours, good signal works a list for the most part. For those of you needing a South Pole contact, jump in the pile.
