DX Report 3/24/13

Band conditions have been horrible in the last few weeks as most of you are aware I am sure. Two stations of mention today

XR0YG Easter island keeps the pile ups going, it may be some time before this rare one is activated again. In fact the XR0 prefix is not used unless some expedition is taking place. In the past the CE0 prefix was used for Easter, San Felix, Juan Fernandez, so grab this one while you have the chance.

This operation has been on 40 at various times 7.010 up two, signal was heard well after sunrise and worked just before sun up a couple of days ago.

Another interesting listing is V73TS, 7008 khz up 1 to two, 1020Z, that is if you can get him to listen for N.A. Heard this morning with good signal, but on a long JA run, then qrt. Only noted he worked one station in N.A. and no one else. Seems the JA wall has his attention for a long time.

There were spotted earlier two stations from FK8, various frequencies, 7.003 khz around 1000z, not real rare, but not plentiful either, check DXscape on these two since the times on the air are sparse.

Very good signal noted from Hi8A 7.003 khz those needing a contact should have no trouble working this fellow, 1045Z with 599 signal.
