Just some notes to pass on, the A5 operation has not been heard, spotted, or worked and it is two days into the time frame. My guess is they ran into some politics. Last minute outrageous charges for a ham license or some other effort to squash the proposed operation. A5 has not been receptive to ham radio over the years so this has not changed. Some years ago A51PN operated for a long time, I worked him and have his qsl card. About a year later he was shut down by the government, never to return again. Fact of the matter is no one else has operated with any large amount of contacts.

Regarding the VP6 this is the longest stay anyone has activated Pitcarin in some time. The group will be there until November 25 so there is lots of time to grab a contact. We worked them last night on 20, signal was about 57 on twenty meter SSB. They were on 14.170 listening up 5, pretty easy to work since most had no copy due to poor band conditions. There was also an E51 operation scheduled for the next few days, so far nothing heard, worked, or spotted. Keep your ears open for the VP6 since this appears to be the best of the three.
