DX Report 3/29/16
« on: March 28, 2016, 10:46:45 PM »
My comments on VK0EK are not favorable at this time. thing is there are spots for him on DXscape around 0330Z. However, most of the country has no copy. I could hear the signal, but it was about ten db below imagination. On 15 operation is now and then. long gaps between contacts at at times when the propagation does not favor the U.S. We have yet to hear them on 15. Couple all this with poor propagation and the fact this group is listening down the band instead of up and that is normal procedure. We are not sure why this sudden change of operating habits when every expedition listens up?

Hopefully, something will change but personally since I do not need it on 20, I may just write this one off for now, 15 seems impossible due to poor band.

I heard VK0EK on 30m on 3/24 at 0300z and they were a true s9. I was able to work them for #336. 30m seems to be their best band.
