DX Report 2/14/3
« on: February 14, 2013, 06:00:12 AM »
First and foremost today, remember your wife and or girl friend, keep out of the doghouse!

Doghouse is cold this time of year and you will not work any DX from the doggy domain.

Now to more DX two good ones on 40 this morning, T88UU stations is calling for U.S.A. contacts, noted on 7.010 khz 1130z. Station was running simplex, sometimes buried in callers from U.S, but good signal and excellent cw op.

There seems to be at least two stations on from Rotuma, 3D2R this one spotted on 7.016 khz 1130z also, listening up 1. Station did not stay around long vanished after a few contacts.

Twenty showed some life with T6LG, noted around 14,010 up 2, 1317z good signal from this station on twenty meters, been looking hard for his operation on 40, but nothing heard. Mostly those on the East coast have copy, but so far this year I have heard nothing. Keep hoping the propagation Gods will favor us, maybe in the spring.

We have about two more months for good 40 meter contacts, during the Spring and summer months the noise and static levels will build on 40 making DX somewhat challenging. I usually abandon the lower bands until fall. However, we continue to check them and if something interesting surfaces we will post it.
