Only thing stirring for certain are some limited activity from E51 found at 14.250 0200Z. 3W1T shows up calling CQ NA on about 14.020khz close to 0200Z makes one, or two contacts and vanishes.

Nothing much else noted as of this time.

I have not heard the bands in this bad of shape for some time, nothing much on during the day and even less at night. Only station of high interest was EL2DT worked on 14.040 Khz at 2019Z. There is some info going around that an expedition to 3B9 is in the works, better have some improved band conditions for this one.

Over the weekend not much, a few special event stations including W9IMS at the Speedway and that was it. Nothing really outstanding.

Today, signals from Europe what few there are show up well below the normal signal strength on twenty meters just not good at all these days.  :(

« Last post by k4lrx on May 10, 2018, 01:13:53 PM »
Seems like the bands have a very short dx window and once it is gone, that is it for the day. On the date listed the bands were dead until the afternoon, suddenly they came alive with signals for a short time.

4X70I 14.0009 2050Z

FR4NT 14.210 looking for North America, 2025Z

9H3JI 14.032 2153Z

After those three, nothing, dead band for the rest of the day.

Only thing stirring on 20 this morning is a noise level and that is it, bands are very poor, so time to divert to other projects like blowing the dust out of the radios and securing a few connections. Some action in the form of other Z6 stations, we would like to capture this one on other bands when we have some good prop.

Only other action are C8T and C9, but neither have been too active due to poor bands. So far not much to report overall. With high static crashes the 80 meter dx season is pretty much over till fall and 40 has not produced much.

There is one station operating from JD1 but West Coast has heard him faintly, nothing at all back this way, I did hear some calling but only heard a faint whisper of a signal from JD1. This is Ogasawara so it is quite common during various times of the year, so I am sure you will have other chances for it.

Looks like the 80 meter season is over for a few months, high static crashes and noise are making it nearly impossible for dx contacts. Had it been winter months I might have had a good shot at C8T this is a new expedition and the group will be on until the 15th of this month. This operation is on from Mozambique, been nice to have worked them or had a chance on 80 meters for a 5th band, but nothing heard but static crashes.

Station was spotted on 3.505Khz around 0500Z. few callers and if there was a signal it is gone now.

Twenty has been poor during the day and 40 pretty flat at night. Looks like the summer doldrums are upon us.
