DX Report 10/28/14

Looks like with solar flares the bands were not too good in the last twenty four hours.

We have the following:

VK9DLX 7.007 0950Z.

PJ7/K5WE 7.003 0700Z.

VK9DLX 10.106 UP 0900Z.

VK9DLX 14.295 UP 10 0615Z.

E51NOOU 21.008 UP 0500Z.

ZK3E 21.044 0140Z. BE SURE YOU GET THE CALL RIGHT, THERE ARE TWO STATIONS OPERATING ZK3E AND ZK3Q.

VK9DLX 28.440 UP 5 0100Z,

Now as to VK9XSP according to their web site they have had band black outs and nothing heard, well I wonder, since VK9DLX is so active every day and has been working thousands of stations either their location is so much better, or the band conditions only hit Christmas Island? Well what ever, this one was a disappointment for many of us. So be it we wait until next time, we did grab a few new band countries in the contest.

Now there is one station from Mayotte on the air, heard them yesterday, signal was just above the noise, it is a holiday operation from a French station, so this one may be in and out. I heard them on 15, but signal was so far down that any copy was marginal at best.

VK9XSP according to their web site folded up the tent on the 27th, so this one is dead for now. Maybe later another operation will take place and who knows?
