Lots of Russian special event stations on the air with very long calls. Most of them I am not sure what the special event is, and for the most part the majority of us do not care. However, they do add to the prefix chase, so if you are into the WPX award go for it.
A few of the more notable on the bands in the last few hours:
ZD8D 14.041 1100Z operation is on just about every day.
9J2T 21.045 1300Z very good signal when they operate.
3B9FR 21.025 0230Z worked this station on several bands, but no sign of a qsl I have hope.
VR2UW 28.032 1300z good signal on the bands quite often.
9j2T 28.410 up 5 1300Z.
