WEST MALAYSIA, 9M2. Look for 9M4CNY to be QRV from Penang Island,
IOTA AS-015, on February 2 to mark the Chinese New Year Cultural and
Heritage Festival 2014. Activity will be on 20, 15, 10 and 2
meters. QSL direct to home call.
BHUTAN, A5. A group of operators are QRV as A52JR until February 4
during the Zorro's Foundation for Global Children programs.
Activity is on 80 to 10 meters using SSB. QSL via PP5VB.
BAHAMAS, C6. Tim, AF1G is QRV as AF1G/C6A from Andros Island, IOTA
NA-001, until November 20. Activity is on 80 to 6 meters using SSB.
QSL direct to home call.
URUGUAY, CX. Members of the Radiogrup Sur are QRV as CW5O from the
Rincon del Bonte Lighthouse until February 2. Activity is on the HF
bands using all modes. QSL direct to CX2ABC.
ANTARCTICA. Lee, DS4NMJ will be QRV as D8A from the Jang Bogo
research station at Terra Nova Bay from February 1 to January 31,
2015. Activity will be on the HF bands using mostly CW with some
SSB and RTTY. QSL via HL2FDW.
AMSTERDAM AND ST. PAUL ISLANDS, FT/Z. A large group of operators
are QRV as FT5ZM for two weeks. Activity is on 160 to 10 meters
using CW, SSB and RTTY. QSL via N2OO.
GREENLAND, OX. Steen, OZ1ANE is QRV from OX3KQ until February 3.
Activity is on 160 to 10 meters using CW and SSB. QSL direct to
OZ0J.
NETHERLANDS, PA. Special event station PA530ROT is QRV until
February 28 to support this year's 530 km relay run between Paris
and Rotterdam. QSL via PA0ABM.
SAO TOME AND PRINCIPE, S9. A group of operators will be QRV as S9TF
from Principe, IOTA AF-044, from February 1 to 12. Activity will be
with three stations on 80 to 10 meters. QSL via IK5CRH.
MARSHALL ISLANDS, V7. Bill, N6MW plans to be QRV as V73MW from
Majuro Atoll, IOTA OC-029, from February 4 to 14. Activity will be
mainly on 160, 80, 30 and 20 meters using CW with some RTTY. QSL
via M0URX.
CANADA, VE. Canadian amateur radio operators have been assigned
five channels on 60 meters at 5332 kHz, 5348 kHz, 5358.5 kHz, 5373
kHz, and 5405 kHz. Operations are to take place on a
non-interference principle using CW, USB, RTTY and Data with a
maximum bandwidth of 2.8 kHz and 100 watts ERP.
INDIA, VU. Members from the National Institute of Amateur Radio
based in Hyderabad are QRV as AU3NIAR to celebrate its 30th
anniversary. QSL via VU2NRO.
INDONESIA, YB. Budi, YF1AR and Fan, YB0AI are QRV as home calls/8
from the Gorong and Watubela Islands, IOTA OC-237, until February 3.
Activity is on 40 to 10 meters using SSB. QSL YF1AR/8 via N2OO and
YB0AI/8 direct to home call.
OPERATIONS APPROVED FOR DXCC CREDIT. The following operations are
approved for DXCC credit: Saudi Arabia, 7Z1ES, if you had this
rejected in a recent application, send a note to bmoore (at)
arrl.org to be placed on the list for update; Afghanistan, T6ZG,
current operation.
SPECIAL EVENT STATIONS. W1AW Centennial Stations W1AW/0 in
Minnesota and W1AW/5 in Texas are QRV until 2359Z on 4 February. In
addition, W1AW Centennial Stations W1AW/4 in Georgia and W1AW/KH6 in
Hawaii will be QRV starting at 0000z on February 5. They will be
active until 2359z on 11 February.
THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO. The QRP CW Fox Hunt, NCCC CW Sprint
Ladder, Vermont QSO Party, Triathlon DX Contest, 10-10 International
SSB Winter Contest, Black Sea Cup International, EPC World Wide DX
BPSK63 Contest, F9AA CW Cup, Minnesota QSO Party, FYBO Winter QRP
Sprint, British Columbia QSO Party, AGCW Straight Key CW Party,
Delaware QSO Party, Mexico RTTY International Contest and the North
American CW Sprint will certainly keep contesters busy this upcoming
weekend. The RSGB 80-Meter Club SSB Championship is scheduled for
February 3. The ARS Spartan Sprint is scheduled for February 4.
