There will be two operations one from Christmas Island and the other from Cocos Keeling, this week apparently Christmas is activated.
Signal was copied this morning around 1430Z beaming due North, however the station audio is muffled, couple this with and accent and you get the picture, rather difficult to determine who they were replying to at the time. Heard on 14.190 and listening up five Khz. be sure and split your radio frequency control for this one.
We could determine they were only working Europe and did not reply to anything in North America, so be it, but the window was open, perhaps later on they will shift to N.A. I did hear several U.S. Stations calling, but no reply.
For more information on this operation check their web site, search VK9XI and go from that point. We can use a cw contact from VK9XI, but so far nothing heard, we have all the VK9 groups confirmed on 20 and few scattered on 15. Be nice to hear them on 15, or ten, but again propagation may not favor us.
