DX Report 12/19/16
« on: December 19, 2016, 03:35:07 AM »
Looks like we may have a last hurrah for December of 2016.   On the 19th to the 26 there is supposed to be an operation of VK9NM for Norfolk Island. I would not hold your breath for this one, info says this is a holiday operation so who knows?

Others on the list today are the following:

ZD7FT 7.159 0420Z this one is easy to work, nice signal.

3DA0TM 7.160 0355Z

HP1RN this one has become scarce in the last few years, Check 14.210  2300Z.

OF9X the Santa Claus Station, location is the top of the world just inside the Arctic circle. Nice QSL and great for young kids to talk to Santa who takes the mic.  14.240 2220Z

FY5FY new one on the scene  18.073 2110Z.

V53DX 21.285 1645Z

FR4QF 21.234 1630Z

I had hoped to do some six meter work in December when we have the winter peak. the band is spotlighting open in some areas and not in other areas. This has been a dead area, nothing heard on six for months. Does not look like a peak will reach us, but then again, you never know about six. It could be alive with stations today, tomorrow, or not at all.

Stay warm and keep a watch for the jolly fat man whose bag will be loaded with new toys for hams.
