DX Report 10/26/16

Looks like we have lot of activity from V6Z. We have the following frequencies.

7.175 1100Z

7.008 0955Z

18.113 0100Z

21.295 2340.

The 17 meter operation has raised a few eyebrows since this station was using RTTY but not in the sub band for such transmissions. Take your chances on the 17 meter operation if using RTTY.

This weekend will be the World Wide Phone contest, looks like we will have our share of portable stations, one such noted was VP5, this island is not heard that often, so pretty easy to work from N.A. Of course expect the big signals from PJ land, some JA stations, South America, maybe a scant few from Africa, many JA's lots of Europe.

Unless the 9N operation improves this one is a write off, little operating toward U.S. we have certainly had no trouble working that country before if there is a signal that can be heard. In this case zero.

BTW as usual in the contest, we may hear a few stations from China, lots of JA stations, but little else from Asia, it just does not happen in contests, we shall see what does this weekend?
