DX Report 8/23/16

CY9C is about the only real action going, we have yet see any spots for operation on ten meters, since the group will be on the island for a few days, it is still possible for them to operate on ten. However, with the band in the shape it is, doubtful anything will be heard even if they attempt to operate on ten. The same is true for six meters, there was supposed to be an operation on six, but again nothing ever heard, or spotted.

On the 25th two ops from Japan are supposed to activate Pitcarin Island, although this is not etched in stone we have hopes of some ten meter operation. Over the years Pitcarin has been workable on several bands, but ten meters is not one of them. Since propagation has been poor for CY9 it it doubtful VP6J will be heard on ten, or six as planned.

If you need this one, stick to the lower bands, 20/40. that is if the operation is indeed planning to be on the island. Operating dates are from 25 August to 3 September.
