Six meters 2013
« on: February 11, 2013, 09:09:12 AM »
Due to the fact that we have had miserable band conditions in the last few months I have not reported a thing for six meters. In fact there has been nothing to report, or much heard.

The only activity I have noted are a group of fellows up near Bloomington, on 50.130 1300z. Signals are about s2/s3 at my location in Henderson, but copyable.

A few years ago when good conditions were noted, I have racked up all but one state on six and twenty five countries, the most notable being Japan, several countries in Europe, the Caribbean, and South America. In 2012 only one good opening occurred and it lasted but a few hours.

If you check DXscape you will find spots of stations with six meter activity, however they are much further south then we are and apparently enjoy some propagation being closer to the equator. For us further North the band remains dormant.

In Spring we may see some openings, keep listening and hope for the best.
