DX Report 1/18/13

JT1CO this one is rare zone 23 from Mongolia, signal was very good this morning on 7.005 khz 1200z. This station has been active and stirs up quite a pile of stations calling. He is the same op as JT5DX and his qsl card is indeed very nice.

Signal is very good in Kentucky and if you listen close you will not have any trouble working him. Do not mistake his call for a Japanese station, the JT prefix is Mongolia and nothing else.

Also some activity from Indonesia on 7.138 khz about 11:30 Z and also check 7.130 khz about the same time.

KC4AAA active on 14,243 ssb around 0600Z this is a South pole operation. Keep in mind that the three letter suffix AAA, or AAB, C etc is usually the south pole and not a stateside call.

Try a due south heading, but then again it might be North,  depending on the best path you have, make an effort to work them. Yes, it does count as a separate entity listed as KC4, CE9 etc.

PY0F/PP1CZ this is a big call to be sent on cw, but this operation is going on 40 at 7.002 up two. Hopefully, some other bands will interest this operation. Not very active so far, but keep an ear open if you need them.

Not much else going on, but keep your ears open and the dials turning.
