DX Report 1/11/13
« on: January 11, 2013, 05:44:40 AM »
Bands came alive this morning on 40, worked JT1CO, this is rare zone 23 and Mongolia, very good signal on 7.005 1130Z.
Second time on this band, secured a qsl card from the first contact.

Other notable stations are C6AVA this is not a rare one, but if you need it on various bands easy to work from N. A.

I did note a suitcase, or good will operation by a European station operating from Haiti using the portable HH2 designation. Take your chances with this one, no documentation to the ARRL, it counts for nothing towards any of their awards.

It has been many years since any operation has taken place by a native Haitian. In fact I have a few qsl cards from AM contacts back in the sixties and early 70's. Nothing much else and they were fifteen meter contacts.

Bands over all have been terrible and not much on 40, or twenty.. Hope for the best.

Due to the earthquake and the fact this is one of the poorest countries in the world, doubtful there will be much activity other then visitors.
